WHAT TO EXPECT

  

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer to work within a cross-functional team and support delivery and development of new projects for front and rear drive units. 

This role provides oportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and support the delivery of driveline drive unit modules, including physical engineering, component procurement, and delivery for vehicle programmes, while meeting all established cost, quality, and schedule criteria. 

 

This involves designing components that fulfil functional criteria such as cost, quality, and weight objectives, releasing parts on schedule, updating JLR Standards, DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis), and Design Guides, and ensuring that the programme meets deliverables for the major vehicle gateways. 

 

Key accountabilities and responsibilities: 

  • Work on the delivery of the driveline module targets. 

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate module concepts, features, and alternatives and create production drawings. 

  • Assist with the development of operational targets created in the strategy phase to ensure they can be delivered robustly. 

  • Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.  

  • Support the development of Driveline module component costs, investment, vendor tooling, design, and development. 

  • Support the development and delivery the test plan. 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

  • Experience in developing and delivering technical products. 

  •  Knowledge of product design, delivery, change control, definition, and change management. 

  • Experience working in project team environment.     

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
