Pathways
Enjoy a variety of roles across several different pathways, each helping deliver the most iconic modern luxury brands in the automotive industry. Each role has certain entry requirements and involves a variety of work across many teams and functions within JLR. You can only apply for one pathway – so choose carefully.

Our Commercial team spans over 3,500 colleagues globally and is constantly evolving to ensure we provide a relentless focus on customer experience and, to deliver a modern luxury experience across all customer touchpoints. With a new organisational structure to deliver JLR’s Reimagine strategy, in Commercial we are focusing on four key strategic pillars; Customer loyalty, Desirable growth, Digital go-to-market and Sustainable future.
The Commercial Business pathway is focussed on our commercialisation strategy – planning, optimising and growing our business. During the graduate programme, you’ll get the opportunity to experience the full breadth of the Commercial function across four, six-month placements inclusive of our:
House of Brands - offering four distinct, differentiated modern-luxury brands, that drives growth through true desirability in a fast-changing digital and new energy world.
Centres of Excellence - bring deep subject matter expertise to deliver the best solutions, driving synergies and efficiencies to enable maximum brand and commercial success.
Regions and Markets - execute and informs brand strategies using deep understanding of market requirements to achieve exceptional experience delivery, optimising performance and profitability of the market.

What you'll need
For the Commercial Business Graduate Programme, you will need to hold or be on track to achieve at least a 2.2 degree in a business-related subject (business, economics, marketing, human resources).
In addition, you will have real passion for problem-solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions. You will also have strong numerical and interpersonal skills and the confidence to champion new initiatives.
Please note that to apply to our graduate programmes, you must have obtained a degree or be expecting to achieve your degree in the current academic year. All our graduate programmes have a fixed start date, commencing September 2025.

ONLINE APPLICATION

ONLINE TESTING
If you progress to the next stage we’ll ask you to complete a series of short online tests which you will complete independently. Passing this stage is based on your scores from completing your online assessments. Don’t forget to use the practice area to help you prepare. Click here to enter the practice test area.
ONLINE ASSESSMENT CENTRE
The next stage is the virtual assessment centre. This consists of a presentation exercise and behavioural interview. You’ll be provided with a preparation guide to help you at this final stage.
OFFER
We’ll share the outcome of your assessment centre within 2 weeks of you completing it. If you are successful, we’ll make you a verbal offer and confirm this in writing via email.
NEXT STEPS
Before you join JLR, we’ll give you all the information you need through post-offer engagement events, online platforms and more. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, we’re here every step of the way.

Our two-year Graduate programmes offer the perfect blend of personal and professional training and development. We encourage you to think big, showcase creativity and innovation. Develop your core skills through our Graduate curriculum, build experiences through the opportunities on offer at JLR, and improve your technical expertise through learning tailored to your programme.
INTRODUCTION
Start with corporate and local inductions into JLR, in September 2025. Receive an overview of our business and future strategic direction, network with other joiners / key stakeholders including our D&I networks and experience the workplace for the first time! You’ll also get more details of your graduate programme and learning curriculum, gain exposure to our vehicles and meet the early careers team, here to support you at every step.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
The graduate programme will not only provide industry insight, but will help you develop key business skills including communication, self-management, problem solving, influencing and leadership. You’ll receive a blended learning approach over the course of year 1 including face-to-face workshops, virtual classrooms and on-demand content delivered by Ashorne Hill. Lifelong learning – To support your skills development and experiential learning, you’ll be given 20% protected off-the-job learning time, giving you the ability to further your development and achieve the requirements of your graduate programme.
IMMERSE YOURSELF
Get the chance to tour one of our manufacturing sites and experience for yourself the transformation of our luxury vehicles. You might even get the chance to experience the capabilities of our vehicles first hand... Want to have even more fun? Join our Early Careers communities and enjoy fun social activities such as skiing, summer / Christmas parties, football and much more!
HANDS-ON INSIGHTS
Manufacturing is the heart of our business operations and helps us deliver the exceptional vehicles we deliver to our customers. You’ll get the chance to undertake a week-long placement on the manufacturing line and gain an appreciation of the immense effort that goes into each vehicle we create. You’ll also have the option of a further 1-week experience in another business function such as early careers, commercial, company quality and others, to gain different insights and experiences than a typical day-to-day in your home department.
DEVELOPMENT
Own your own journey. Apply your degree to real-world business issues as part of your role. You’ll have the ability to complete rotational placements as part of your two-year programme, broadening your knowledge of the business function and building connections with new stakeholders. Expect to gain tangible examples on where you have positively impacted the business and further your personal and professional skills. Depending on your function, there may also be the opportunity for you to gain further qualifications during your 2nd year.
GRADUATE INNOVATION CHALLENGE
The GIC is an initiative run by JLR across year 2 of your programme. You’ll have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to current business issues, working collaboratively with other JLR graduates globally. Your 20% off-the-job time will support your self-development and project work. Each group will have the opportunity to present their pioneering solutions to senior leaders within the business, with winners often receiving prizes and funding to incorporate their idea into JLR in the future!
CELEBRATION AND GROWTH
Finish your graduate programme with a recognition event, designed to showcase your experiences and celebrate your fantastic achievements. You’ll have gained tons of knowledge and experience to thrive in your future career. We’ll hand out some exciting awards linked to our Creator’s Code - you could be amongst the winners! Upon successful completion of your graduate programme, we will offer you a substantive role within the business to continue your career journey and growth with us.
