Finance Graduate

Duration: 2 years

Salary: Our current salary is £29,000 with a £2,000 joining bonus

From the start, you will be adding real value to our business and experiencing the scale and breadth of an industry-leading finance team. You will mainly focus on business partnering or supporting commercial projects, providing financial analysis and insights and be involved in budgeting, forecasting, profit planning, strategy and investment appraisals. We’re impacting the future of movement.

Rotating through two placements, you will take on diverse roles within business partnering, management information and analytics, global financial shared services and group finance (including treasury, tax, accounting and compliance). Along the way, you will gain a thorough grounding in accounting fundamentals, empowering you to achieve a valuable CIMA qualification. Your impact will be felt across the business, spanning manufacturing, product engineering, commercial, purchasing and corporate operations. At the end of the programme, you will have the broad experience and well-rounded skill set you need to fulfil your career ambitions.

what you'll need

You will need to hold, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2.2 degree in economics, business studies, finance, maths, biology, chemistry or physics. You’ll also require a real appetite for learning, strong interpersonal skills and a passion for problem-solving, backed by real business acumen and innate analytical skills.

Develop your core skills through our Graduate curriculum, build experiences through the opportunities on offer at Jaguar Land Rover, and improve your technical expertise through learning tailored to your programme.

YEAR 1

INDUCTION - You’ll begin with an induction into Jaguar Land Rover in September 2023. You’ll get an overview of our business and future direction, get the chance to network, and meet key stakeholders, diversity & inclusion groups and more. This is where you’ll get all the information about your two-year graduate programme, and where you’ll be exposed to our business, our products and you’ll meet your Early Careers delivery team.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT – Your Graduate curriculum will enable you to develop across four key journeys including, Personal Skills, Self-management, Effective Business Techniques and Business Skills. Within these journeys you will enhance your communication & presentation skills, stakeholder management principles, innovation & creativity, leadership skills and change management amongst others, whilst promoting wellbeing & resilience. This will be achieved through a blended learning approach of face-to-face workshops, virtual classrooms and on-demand content.

EXPERIENCE – Apply your learning to real-world business problems and tasks as part of your role. Undertake placements and/or shadowing to broaden your knowledge of your business function and connect with new stakeholders. You will be empowered to reach your full potential by the opportunities available to you during your programme, and the level of responsibility you will attain. You won’t be simply observing. You will lead change, deliver critical priorities and make an impact from the start.

YEAR 2

GRADUATE INNOVATION CHALLENGE - The Graduate Innovation Challenge (GIC) is an initiative run by Jaguar Land Rover in year two of your programme, where graduates get the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to current business issues. The programme will run simultaneously across your graduate programmes for six months, with dedicated hours for self-development. Challenge groups will have the opportunity to present to senior leaders within the business. Who knows, you could even see your idea be incorporated in to our business!

EXPERIENCE - By year two, you will be more familiar with the business and will have tangible examples on where you have positively impacted your business function. You will continue to develop your network, utilising your wider graduate community and employee connections. You will further your personal & professional skills through your graduate programme.

MOVING FORWARD - Your graduate programme will provide you with the experience you need to thrive in our business. Along every step of the way, your performance will be assessed, and you will be given the opportunity to shape your experiences towards your future. Upon successful completion of your graduate programme, we will offer you a substantive role within the business which continues to develop your career with Jaguar Land Rover.
