WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Join our team of next generation thinkers. this role is within the Transmission, Driveline and Electrification prototype test team which delivers test capability supporting design, development and validation of Powertrain systems from controls development and calibration through to certification and legislative compliance testing. The department operates a range of test facilities which are used to develop, verify and sign-off component, sub-system and system level targets, features and attributes 

 

The team's function is to support Powertrain and Product Engineering in their objective of achieving ‘timely, quality’ product releases through supporting the overall Powertrain 'cycle plan' and the team vision is to build a world class test facility with world class operations.

 

The build engineer is responsible for tracking the build, palletisation and owning the BoM (Bill of Material) order & validation then to phase 3 Palletisation/Build and then phase 5 Installation on rig and is responsible for ensuring the processes are adhered to and to ensure quality is achieved at the end of each phase (P5 – P8) of the “Are we ready?” process.

 

They will resolve any issues identified with the facilities they are responsible for along with relevant processes or escalate appropriately to the facility management team also within EO department. As part of the build engineer role, they will manage the calibration of EO 10014 measurement equipment and facilities.

Another Key aspect to the role is to Design test rig specific components that will enable testing such as fixtures, frames, cooling circuits etc

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with system rig design team to deliver a quality design that enables the test rig to deliver on the customer requirements and ensure continuous improvement, draft facility upgrade requirements.

  • Own the Bill of Materials and GAP documentation for each project.

  • Ensure the progress made is recorded and updated in the appropriate project management tools (currently WRIKE) but could be others

  • Manage the calibration of EO 10014 measurement equipment and facilities

  • Develop and compile KPI’s and report to management on weekly basis

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Proven experience and understanding of Test facilities, processes, equipment and leading technologies

  • Ability to validate, understand and explain engineering documents to others

  • Proven experience participating in problem solving analysis to investigate and resolve engineering problems

  • Abilities or qualifications in using CAD software for designing fixture and frames

  • Experience with manufacturing techniques and processes
