WHAT TO EXPECT

 

We are currently hiring for the position of an EDU Investigation Engineer to join the Electric Drive Unit Quality team within Powertrain Engineering here at JLR. In this role, you will be the technical focus for problem solving and issue resolution within the commodity. You would be responsible for interfacing with core engineering and customer service teams to provide problem solving technical guidance, and will lead detailed investigations into understanding the root causes of issues and ensure the delivery of appropriate corrective measures.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Customer issue resolution and problem-solving technical excellence using the appropriate methodologies.

  • Ensure that all associated retailer technical information is correct and accurate for the EDU commodity.

  • Engineering problem solving to establish robust root cause of issues within the EDU’s.

  • Support delivery and progress of 8D problem solving process from issue definition to resolution.

  • Prevent recurrence actions, to implement and ensure improved robustness to noise factors from both a design and detection perspective.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As this role involves primarily investigative work, you will need to have come from a technician type background, and be experienced within technical problem solving. We are looking for someone who has good experience in diagnosing issues and as a result has good problem-solving knowledge also.

 

Essential:

  • Experience within Technical problem diagnosis/solving

  • Knowledge of EDU components and system integration

  • Knowledge of EV system diagnostics and the ability to interrogate system diagnostic tools

  • Experience with relevant methodologies (i.e 8D, 6-Sigma DMAIC)

  • Experience with Data Analysis and interpretation, with ability to drive analysis direction
