WHAT TO EXPECT

 

This Lead System Engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing our Propulsion Software, Calibration and Controls department and will be instrumental in developing and deploying methods and tools that support the adoption of a world-class systems engineering approach.

 

You'll be at the forefront of the Systems Engineering community across Engineering, striving to ensure systems engineering artefacts are captured in a traceable and accessible manner that provides critical input to the growing JLR Body of Knowledge and enables flawless programme delivery.

 

This is an opportunity to support the rollout and adoption of model-based system engineering within JLR, helping to design and deliver the systems, tools, processes, and training needed to engineer world-class system artefacts.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Facilitate alignment between squads on intersystem dependencies
  • Engage with system squads to ensure high-quality quality consistent system artefacts
  • Support squads to design and develop testable systems and requirements
  • Lead technical reviews of propulsion systems to ensure the quality of the deliverables
  • Promote the adoption of MBSE techniques within the wider powertrain team
  • Support squads in delivering artefacts in line with the timings required for program delivery

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Experience in modelling complex systems, ideally vehicle and/or Powertrain systems
  • Knowledge of basic SysML principles
  • Experience with system engineering principles
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, taking full ownership and responsibility for own work; fully invested in achieving a successful result
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills, including ability to manage relationships and communicate effectively at all levels
