WHAT TO EXPECT

As an eMotor Testing Validation Engineer, you will be is responsible to ensure the correct delivery of the test of the next generation electric motor concepts and its sub-components. As an eMotor Testing Validation Engineer, your responsibilities will be to plan and manage the test plan for the eMotor and their components, either internal at JLR or at external test suppliers, follow the tests as they happen, perform the initial investigations of the failures and write the test reports and contribute to the standardisation of the test plans and procedures. You will have direct contact with the system, component and facilities teams (either part of the same team or external stakeholders) to ensure the delivery of the tests on time and with the required quality to the program.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Plan, manage and deliver the test plan in cost, quality and time to the relevant gateways of the program or project.
• Support build activities of prototypes to ensure correct delivery of such prototypes for future testing
• Liaise with internal customers and external facilities to ensure the optimum test rig for the program or project in terms of facilities, costs and timing.
• Perform the initial assessment of the failures during the tests to provide a robust handover to the component teams and support them during the problem resolution.
• Standardise the test plans and data postprocessing for efficient use of the results.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

As you will be coordinating test plans, a high level of organisation and communication skills will be needed to help manage the test plans and processes.

Essential: 

• Aptitude for identifying and solving complex engineering problems.
• Experience in data analysis.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Able to effectively communicate and work cross-functionally with technical and compliance teams.
• Knowledgeable on electric motors bill of materials and its sub-assemblies
