WHAT TO EXPECT

As the sustainability engineer working within the JLR Solihull Site Services, Energy & Environmental department you will be a key driver in reducing energy consumption, cost and carbon emissions. You will play a leading role in the development and implementation of Solihull’s energy management strategy, working closely with a range of stakeholders, technology energy champions and other sites energy teams.

You will be working closely with maintenance and production teams to reduce energy consumption and improve sustainability. You will monitor, analyse, investigate and explain energy consumption. Develop ECMs and drive good housekeeping practices to reduce energy consumption.

You will take a leading role in managing the implementation of energy saving ideas from conception to delivery, including the calculation of business cases using financial evaluation techniques. Good communication and organisational skills will be essential when updating our corporate strategy & sustainability teams with Solihull’s energy efficiency improvements, which support our glide path to achieving our SBTi commitments.

You will also help to ensure robust compliance of environmental systems and embrace our strong commitment to sustainability and driving JLR Solihull towards our net zero commitments.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Directly assist with the identification of the route to Net Zero, working with internal and external stakeholders and assisting with the implementation of identified strategies.

• Energy monitoring, targeting and reporting

• Energy project verification

• Development of project business cases

• Help the organisation to achieve Net Zero status and drive standards

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Previous experience working within energy management or a similar industry

• Knowledge of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) best practices, standards, and regulations

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
