WHAT TO EXPECT


Reporting to the CME Process Lead Engineer and to the CME Process Engineering Manager, the department is responsible for all Manufacturing Engineering activities within Body in White on current vehicle and model year programmes.
This role will provide engineering and technical support to maintain  and improve manufacturing production processes and associated equipment to enable build of  products, dimensional output, ensuring quality of product and compliance with the Bill of Process (BOP).


This includes the creation and continuous improvement of process, all process equipment, delivery of tools, jigs & fixtures, quality problem solving, data analysis and reporting of major issues, deployment of failure mode avoidance tools, support of cross-functional teams in the resolution of those issues on projects and the tracking of resolution through to completion.


You’ll be part of a team of engineers, the role requires collaboration across functions to ensure we have established compliance with the BOP to deliver processes that meet our basic minute value (BMV) and quality targets. It is also important for us to share best practice across the platforms and between manufacturing plants to ensure we employ the best processes available wherever possible.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles
  • Responsibility for Control Plan adherence and updates
  • Planning, developing, implementation and continuous improvement of all capable GSPAS Processes for manufacturing, including change management
  • Planning, development, procurement and implementation of all Process equipment tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing
