WHAT TO EXPECT
Step into the future of logistics with our Global Manufacturing Engineering Logistics team as an Automation Strategy Specialist based at the Logistics Operations Centre (LOC) Solihull. This role offers a thrilling opportunity to revolutionise our logistics operations through cutting-edge automation technologies.
You will identify use cases and develop automation solution “Proof of Concepts”, which are designed to enhance process efficiency, ensuring concepts are proven and ready for the seamless integration of automation solutions into existing logistics processes.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Identify Automation Opportunities: Conduct thorough analyses of logistics processes to identify opportunities for automation, including ASRS, MHE/AGV, Robotics, and AI. Evaluate the potential benefits and feasibility of implementing these technologies.
- Develop and Implement Proof of Concept: Design and deploy innovative automation proof of concepts to enhance process efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve overall productivity. Develop detailed project plans and timelines to ensure successful implementation.
- Evaluate and Optimise Systems: Continuously assess the effectiveness of automation initiatives across the business and in the wider industry. Collect and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Global Manufacturing Engineering, and operations, to develop automation solutions for seamless integration and minimal disruption to operations.
- Create Detailed Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and training materials, to support the implementation and maintenance of automation systems. Ensure that all documentation is clear and accessible.
- Conduct Regular Assessments: Regularly evaluate logistics processes to identify further opportunities for automation and improvement. Stay updated on the latest advancements in automation technologies and industry best practices.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Proven experience in developing and implementing automation solutions within a logistics or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of automation technologies, including ASRS, MHE/AGV, Robotics, and AI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documentation and training materials.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
- Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
