What To Expect

This is an excellent opportunity for Senior Software Architect to join the organisation at an extremely exciting and crucial time. You will be responsible for ideating, designing and developing software solutions to address complex problems. You will be able to provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team, while taking the lead in code and pipeline reviews. The Senior Software Architect will have design authority in a highly collaborative environment and actively engage in the development process, proactively acting as a bridge between Software Requirements and Implementation.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Lead Architectural reviews and understand and plan for evolutionary paths

• Manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture

• Oversee architectural approaches from conception to installation

• Conceptualize software solutions for JLR ECUs and innovative vehicle topologies

• Choose the technologies for the implementation of each component and connections between the components

• Collaborate with managers and developers to determine project scope and roadmap

• Decide on the platforms, frameworks and coding standards to be used in project development

• Evaluate existing software solutions to identify areas for reusability and improvement

• Analyze modifications for existing software to upgrade performance

• Ensure architectural integrity of software solutions

• Maintain thorough documentation of systems and applications

What You'll Need

Essential

• Ability to communicate clearly the complex concepts from the system level to the component level

• Proven hands-on experience on embedded systems, C and/or C++ programming and debugging

• Good understanding of Hardware – Software interactions

• Understanding of software requirements derivation and allocation to the Software Architecture

• Experience in both low-level operating system functionality (e.g. memory/resource management, scheduling, process control) as well as high-level real-time and/or embedded applications

• Understanding of system requirements analysis and elicitation

• UML and SySML hands-on experience, clear understanding of modelling

• Understanding of Model Based System Engineering

• Excellent understanding of networking and security

Desirable

• Requirements management tools DOORS/DOORS-NG

• Knowledge of architectural tools: IBM Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect

• Experience in Agile methodologies

• Expertise in Autosar Automotive Technologies and Vehicle Network Architecture

• Understanding of Functional Safety standards (ISO26262) and security mechanisms
