WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a fantastic opportunity for a DevSecOps engineer to join the testing team at our Software Centre of Excellence in Shannon and work within a high performing team to design, build and maintain a critical DevSecOps environment within JLR.

As a Senior DevSecOps engineer you will operate infrastructure as code and monitoring tools required to support our Enterprise Software Factory (ESF) Platform at scale. You will work with a security-first mindset and encourage best practices throughout the team and the wider development environment. This includes reviewing deployment and operational environments, troubleshooting issues and managing technical operations.

You will be part of a collaborative team and have a chance to network with your peers across the global JLR Engineering group to share best known methods and practices and to continually improve and develop our platform and toolset offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting development teams in building reusable cloud infrastructure through DevSecOps methods and principles.

  • Collaborate with development and DevSecOps teams to automate and reduce inefficiencies.

  • Ensure system stability, scalability, and security through "everything as code" approach, emphasising observability and monitoring.

  • Advocate for the DevSecOps, Agile, and Scrum environments.

  •  Actively participate in long-term and sprint planning, daily scrums, and sprint retrospectives.

  • Mentor young engineers to create a strong talent pipeline for the company.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Prior experience in DevSecOps/Cloud Engineering or a related function.

  • Understanding of containerised programmes and the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in at least one public cloud platform (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and practical experience with Kubernetes.

  • Strong expertise of infrastructure as code (Terraform) and scripting languages (Bash/Python).

  • Good knowledge of Configuration as Code (Ansible).

  • Proficiency with SCM systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab) and contemporary CI/CD tools and procedures.

  • Experience with Artefact Management solutions, such as JFrog Artifactory.

  • Mentoring and knowledge sharing skills
