IPS Manager

Grade LL6, local Nitra

Salary:  From 2680 eur monthly, 0-15% yearly bonus, other benefits according JLR rules

 

OPPORTUNITY

Manufacturing Excellence is a core pillar of the Manufacturing function, the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of Integrated Production System (IPS) and Lean Manufacturing principles in Nitra plant.

IPS Manager will be expected to create and drive implementation of Lean Manufacturing strategy in complex manufacturing environment to improve operational performance of Nitra plant.

 

Occasional International travel to JLR’s global Manufacturing facilities will be required.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Establish, develop and grow the Integrated Production system.
  • Coordination and alignment with global Manufacturing Excellence team and Tata Business Excellence Model.
  • Provide operational delivery teams with the tools and resources required to successfully deploy and manage the IPS and Continues improvement – this includes training and deployment activities.
  • Set the standards and ensure the standards are met and maintained across the Nitra site.
  • Define and deploy Lean manufacturing Strategy for Nitra plant through Integrated Business Plan.
  • Drive a continues improvement philosophy to achieve improvement in special focus areas (example: productivity, quality, safety, ergonomics…)
  • Organize and lead “Lean manufacturing” workshops to identify improvement’s opportunities and support their implementation to production.
  • Develop “Lean manufacturing” projects aligned with plant priorities with all steps and actions. Coordinating cross-functional team to drive completion of the projects.
  • Build organisational capability by developing the continuous improvement team.
  • Develop and build a culture of engagement at all levels of the business to provide a highly energised team which is flexible to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Provide technical expertise (Lean principles and tools) to the team.
  • Set-up and analyse the performance indicators. Benchmark and standardize the best practice. 
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Extensive experience and knowledge within a manufacturing environment, with a particular emphasis on lean manufacturing operations (Integrated Production System, Global Manufacturing System, Shingo model)
  • Knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Strong safety awareness
  • Presentation skills, appropriate to all levels of the organisation and applicable to different cultures; the ability to produce professional presentations with appropriate and carefully targeted messaging.
  • Managing within a quality operating system and the requirements of TS16949 / ISO 9001
  • Significant leadership experience to be able to lead direct reports and cross-functional teams to meet key objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience on leading change projects.
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills.
  • Competent in all Microsoft office products.
  • Fluent English Languages abilities

 

Desirable:

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience in innovation manufacturing practices, processes and layout.
