The Opportunity

As a Black Belt Engineer you will be seen as a leader in problem solving within Product Engineering across all areas of the engineering enterprise. You will lead and coach on both problem investigation and resolution across the engineering enterprise, create and produce learning material and organise the events to nurture the Problem Solving Community of Practice. Additionally, you will provide mentorship for Green Belt candidates, taking individuals through to qualification. Whilst doing all of this, you will also grow your own problem solving skillset through to Master Black Belt level. This supports Engineering Quality’s vision to become the automotive industry world leader by setting benchmarks in Quality, Satisfaction and Reliability through sustainable and innovative luxury products.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
● Lead and coach on both problem investigation and resolution development with Tech Centre Engineers or PVT
● The creation and production of problem solving learning material
● Support the organisation of events for the Problems Solving Community of Practice
● Mentoring Green Belts through to qualification
● Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
● Degree in relevant engineering discipline or in associated subjects such as electronics, electrical engineering or other technical qualifications.
● Experience of performing in a variety of Product Engineering environments focused primarily on complex electro-mechanical-software integrated product architectures used in the automotive industry.
● 6-Sigma Green Belt qualified with demonstrable experience applying the skills in multiple complex problems
● Demonstrated communication and presentation skills: ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
● Strong people and teamwork skills, with the ability to work individually and in a global cross functional team.
● Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab.
Desirable:
● 6-Sigma Black Belt
● Hardware and Software development experience using AGILE approaches (e.g. SCRUM, Lean, Feature-Driven) in the automotive industry
