Retailer Training Programs & Events Lead

The Retailer Training Programs & Events Lead will help transform our training function by living by our company values and delivering the modern luxury vision and new purpose for JLRNA retailers.  As part of our Training Department based at our corporate headquarters in Mahwah, NJ, and reporting to the Customer & Product Training Manager, this role is responsible for all special training programs and events for US and Canadian retailers, including events, product launch activities, and retailer reward and recognition programs. 


You will have the opportunity to design, develop and execute significant retailer-wide Training events from end to end, including the Land Rover TRĕK off-road team building competition, new product launch training events, and the Journey to Excellence reward and recognition competition and event.


What you will be doing:

  • Build the passion and enthusiasm among our retailers for our premium brands and our amazing products

  • Bring creative ideas to life by developing and executing engaging and purposeful events

  • Create excitement for drive events and amazing learning experiences for our Retail partners

  • Development and delivery of the Land Rover North America retailer off-roading and team-building competition called TRĕK, including event planning, vehicle development and build, vendor management, hospitality, budget, and competition design and delivery

  • Coordinate ordering of appropriate vehicles for training and launches, ensuring correct mix of vehicles / vehicle specs for training

  • Design and execute retailer reward and recognition programs.  Work with key partners to plan and design the on-line and in-person competitions and the reward trip

  • Work with the recruitment and innovation lead and Customer Service to design new events and programs to help retailer reward and retention for various retailer job roles

  • Deliver new product launch training to retailers, working with NA Launch Planning and Product Planning, Global Network Learning & Development, JLRNA Training Content Lead, and training vendors. Launch training is delivered through national, regional, local, or in-retailer events, with up to 2,000 attendees, depending on the program. Responsible for training goals, development of assets, program logistics, delivery, finances, vendor management, fleets, and on-site support

  • Manage vehicles as part of event planning and delivery

  • Perform other duties as required.

What you will need:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5 to 7 years experience in Automotive / OEM / Retail / Luxury Retail or Events

  • 3-5 years experience in Events, project Management or similar role

  • Advanced in Microsoft Office

  • Excellent Communication skills in all areas

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

  • Ability to plan and manage a project to time / cost / quality

  • Experience with Training/ OEM/ Industry/ Events

  • Can facilitate and learn appropriate content and leverage appropriate experts

  • Enthusiasm for creating a learning culture


Travel:  Domestic - 8 weeks/year


Location: Mahwah, NJ (Hybrid Ways of Working Schedule Offered)
