WHAT TO EXPECT  

This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Excellence Lead Engineer to join our Manufacturing Excellence team and contribute to JLR's Refocus 2.0 and Reimagine journey, as we transform our global Manufacturing footprint to deliver value-driven competitive results across all manufacturing technologies. 

Within this opportunity you will be a part of wider global team and lead team which is responsible for identifying opportunities to reduce cost and eliminate waste of time, money, materials, labour hours and machine time while optimising labour value, volume capacity and manufacturing strategies, across all Manufacturing technologies and JLR sites.  

 

Key accountabilities and responsibilities: 

  • Help develop a Manufacturing Excellence plan for competitiveness across all manufacturing technologies in our worldwide operations footprint, with a focus on competitiveness objectives and key results. 

  • Lead Manufacturing Excellence workshop models to identify process value streams, identify waste, and remove it through action planning. 

  • Assist in training and coaching the operations teams with the necessary tool sets to make manufacturing competitiveness a natural talent, demonstrate the value of competitiveness, and guide them along the path to manufacturing excellence. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED  

  • Experience with Manufacturing/Engineering processes, tools, and techniques. 

  • Knowledge and experience of the implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools, techniques and working practices.  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Passion for continual improvement of process and technologies
