WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Our future-focused vehicles incorporate some of the most advanced technology in everyday use, utilising software that is essential in infotainment Systems. That puts our software engineers at the heart of innovating world-class products, and at the forefront of moving automotive towards the future. In-house development of the software allows JLR to maximise the benefits and deliver unique, industry leading features. 

 

You will play a key part in delivering HMI software in agile methodology and will work within our HMI software development team, liaising with our HMI design teams to achieve the optimum balance of HMI design flexibility and software quality and performance.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensuring that the construction and presentation of your apps are congruent with the company's standards.
  • Collaborating with UI and UX Designers, as well as Software Testers, to ensure that each app is presentable and in perfect working order.
  • Working with designers to turn design templates into working apps
  • Creating a strategy and pipeline for development.
  • Creating and maintaining dependable, reusable, and efficient code.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Experience as an Android Developer using Kotlin, JAVA and Jetpack compose 
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Experience with Android AOSP 
  • Solid understanding of common programming tools and paradigms, use of frameworks, and common design patterns
  • Experience working with external software libraries and APIs
