WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of Compliance Labels. Operating in a cross-functional organisation, Labels Engineers will report into the relevant Group Leader and, where delivering on specific vehicle programmes, have an additional matrix report into Module Leaders or squads. The role requires the individual to deliver to quality, cost and time whilst leading the release & validation of compliance labels for all Engineering CoCs across specific programmes.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Deliver to plan to quality, cost and time, including maintaining the Release System (iCreate & WERS) & Labels PSW
  • Actively seek to improve product, process & Standards continually
  • Manage test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues
  • Resolve issues with component Engineering and Launch teams plus other stakeholders to develop designs that meet targets
  • Ensure all appropriate JLR standards, Design Rules, Bill of design guidelines are met
  • Ensure Compliance with all Global regulatory requirements
  • Keep all documentation up to date including:
    • Meeting minutes
    • Foundation and Programme Design analysis documents
    • Quality history and bill of design
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Previous experience of leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment.
  • A working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes.

 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within engineering or homologation departments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with influencing and engagement skills.
  • Experience of cross functional co-ordination capability in Engineering, Manufacturing, Service and Quality
  • Experience of robust problem solving including Define Measure Analyse Implement Control Replicate processes.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to work groups and senior management.
