Working in a System Engineering team as a specialist in Navigation, you will be responsible for delivering a navigation user experience that delights existing and new customers. The role is vital to an exciting phase at Jaguar Land Rover as we deliver the next generation of vehicle cockpit and digital eco-system. As a Navigation System Engineer, you will play a key role in product definition, design and development and work with a diverse range of automotive suppliers and infotainment colleagues worldwide.
Main Responsibilities:
- Applying Agile principles & practices to design & deliver future navigation systems that customers will love. This includes navigation features, user experience and connected service integration.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the cloud and handheld App teams to deliver seamless end to end experiences Defining and driving work streams requiring collaborative, cross functional working, often with teams from across the globe.
- Showcasing new deliverables and proactively seeking feedback from stakeholders, adapting and reacting quickly where change is needed.
- Managing the resolution of specific navigation system issues using appropriate toolsets & robust problem-solving techniques.
- Leading retrospective activities, capturing the learning & deploying prevent recurrence measures to continuously improve product quality, enhance customer experience & increase customer satisfaction.
- Technology watch and competitive intelligence gathering in order to deliver worldwide navigation applications to the required level in line with JLR, market and industry requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential
- Proven track record of development & delivery of systems with a high software content.
- Able to demonstrate systems thinking and an understanding of system lifecycles, boundaries and interfaces including HMI.
- Possessing strong analytical & problem-solving skills to lead resolution of complex functional/software/hardware inter-related issues, in a team environment.
- The role will require inter-site & potentially international travel for short durations; therefore, it is expected that candidates will hold a valid UK Driving licence & be able to support such business trips as required.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple supplier partners (internal & external) on a project & technical level.
Desirable
- Agile experience as a squad member, product owner or scrum master level
- Proven track record of development & delivery of distributed navigation solutions would be highly desirable.
- Proven track record of development & delivery of automotive IVI solutions.
- Ability to analyse diagnostic logs such as DLT, CAN or similar to identify root cause issues.
- Experience of using enterprise toolsets such as Atlassian, Dassault and Confluence.
