WHAT TO EXPECT

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and enthusiastic Electronics Hardware Engineering Manager / Product Owner to join our Electronics Group within Product Engineering.

 

The role is to maximise the value of the product – in this case the development of electronic modules / ECUs. The successful candidate will create and communicate a clear vision of the strategy for the product and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met.

 

The purpose of this role is also to provide a depth of technical knowledge, support and strategy for the design, manufacturing and introduction of electronic modules / ECU’s for JLR programmes

 

The Electronics Hardware Engineering Manager must have a detailed understanding of advanced electronics development, design and validation methodologies and processes.

 

As a technical leader, you’ll be working with a growing team, that is responsible for the delivery of electronic modules at JLR, meeting defined targets and attributes (technical and commercial – on cost, quality and time).

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Development of the Electronics Hardware operating model, including managing the team and capabilities to deliver to the JLR commodity delivery process
  • Develop and manage the full range of Electronics Hardware Design Processes and methodologies
  • Create the vision and execute recruitment of multi-disciplinary team of engineers
  • Technical leadership of the design and delivery of electronic module attributes and targets.
  • Establish and deploy best technical practices in electronics development.
  • Planning the activities and prioritisation for the electronics development team and reporting of status.
  • Manage the operational and capital budgets for the team
  • Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.

 

  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Extensive experience in electronics development environments, processes and tool chains for volume manufacture.
  • A detailed understanding of the full end-to-end electronics development flow and design review check points and gateways
  • Project and resource management experience in electronics product development
  • Extensive experience and direct engagement with complex electronics design including low level circuit design and review
  • Experienced in working with electronics manufacturing facilities and defining manufacturing requirements
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing technical electronics design teams

This role may offer the opportunity for hybrid working where you can split your time between working from home and in the office.
