The Opportunity
This role is responsible for the design and development of a continuous integration, delivery and deployment pipeline for embedded in-house software solutions 
for body software systems in the base software and application domains.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with other DevOps professionals, software engineers, and quality assurance experts within an Agile framework, 
orchestrating and optimising the software development lifecycle, ensuring that our products meet and exceed quality standards while maintaining efficiency and speed to market.

To achieve this, you will leverage an array of cutting-edge tools and technologies including GitLab and GitLab CI for version control and collaboration, Python and Bash for scripting and automation, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services for scalable and reliable infrastructure, and Docker for containerisation. 
    


 

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • Lead Time for Changes - Improve the time it takes for code changes to go from concept to deployment. Shorter lead times reflect streamlined processes.
  • Mean Time to Recovery - Improve the average time it takes to recover from a production issue or failure. Lower MTTR indicates effective incident response and resolution.
  • Code Quality Metrics - Use code analysis tools to measure code quality, including code maintainability, readability, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Documentation - Improve the completeness and accuracy of documentation related to the CI/CD pipeline, infrastructure configurations, and procedures.
  • Stakeholders - Gather feedback from software development teams, testers, and other stakeholders to gauge satisfaction with the DevOps processes and support.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:

  • Some knowledge of embedded software development, preferably automotive control systems. 
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, preferably in the automotive industry delivering AUTOSAR software.
  • Strong proficiency in GitLab CI/CD configuration and optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go) for automation and configuration management.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and code branching strategies.
  • Experience with JFrog Platform for artefact and dependency management (Artifactory).
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR architecture, software components, and standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux for development.
  • Experience with cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure) for optimizing pipeline performance.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization, exposure to Kubernetes is a strong advantage. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Requirements management using industry tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle practices.
  • Good verbal and written communications.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
