POSITION:  Technical Project Manager - Semiconductors

LOCATION:  Detroit, Michigan

RECRUITMENT SALARY RANGE: $107,500 - $155,000 *

Reporting to the Global Director - Semi-conductor Engineering, you will be responsible for managing the semiconductor team’s activities and technical projects.  You will be depended on to build strong partnerships with internal teams responsible for commercial and technical relationships, vehicle architecture, ECU designs, SW architecture, supply chain and vehicle programs as well as external semiconductor design and fabrication partner(s).

Responsibilities will be to drive day-to-day activities to meet overall project objectives, enable the development effort by creating and monitoring an efficient, streamlined process, redirect pitfalls and develop a better course of action Identify and direct all resources required to execute successful projects, create and maintain project schedules, collaborate and facilitate communication across other organizational leaders and external partners to meet very aggressive schedule, and quality goals, lead multi-functional communication between project teams and external vendors, provide timely issue resolution and critical path management, offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management, understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision making.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Working with senior management to create thorough project plans and roadmaps.
  • Building partnerships and work closely with functional peers across engineering, purchasing, architecture and design teams to execute work in accordance with enterprise semiconductor strategic objectives. 
  • Building strong semiconductor partner working relationships ensuring clear understanding of design and manufacturing process, and supply chain business arrangements.  
  • Establishing domain expertise for semiconductors product line within scope of responsibility. 
  • Ensuring development of written specifications and release semiconductors within scope of responsibility to facilitate on-time sourcing and integration with ECUs in accordance with vehicle development process and program timing requirements. 
  • Managing ongoing process/product design changes related to semiconductors within scope of responsibility. 
  • Establishing clear plans for execution per program milestones and anticipate/mitigate risks.  Monitor & Track Progress and proactively escalate issues as required. 
  • Performing other duties as required

 

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering 
  • 5+ years of technical project experience preferably in the semiconductors field.
  • Exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills; demonstrated ability for working across functional and organizational boundaries.  
  • Exceptional demonstrated experience leading projects to completion. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to learn quickly. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are essential, and must be comfortable presenting to all levels of management; 
  • Must have strong business acumen, and the ability to work with people at varying levels with the organization and network;

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Project Management Certification 
  • Understanding of semiconductor supply chain. 
  • A strong focus on program management, metrics, data, and results.
  • Technical background in semiconductors design and fabrication.

 * Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized components, including location, skills, experience, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus in addition to a full range of medical/health, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick/personal, and parental leave).
