WHAT TO EXPECT

 

This is a key position within the Material Cost Reduction Team. In this role you’ll demonstrate a passion for driving material cost reduction through design, and gain exposure to a wide variety of company departments including Purchasing, Finance, Design, Manufacturing and Product Engineering through the engagement of key stakeholders, seamlessly driving cost saving design actions in to vehicle lines.

 

Your key responsibilities as the Material Cost Reduction Mega Project Engineer are to develop major project proposals, engaging in cross functional project management and liaise with core Programme teams, whilst developing robust business cases for future Megaprojects.

 

You’ll also generate Megaproject presentation packs to support Vehicle Engineering Director’s approval of projects prior to progressing funding appropriation requests, generate and coordinate approval of Appropriation Request though the Cost Engineering Director and Finance, support generation and approval process, project lead or support engineers where projects are cross functional, and set up, run and support project status review meetings with key stakeholders for Megaprojects, including programme team reviews.

 

Finally, you’ll support process improvements, support idea generation events and facilitate group activities as required, and support cost reduction managers in delivery of material cost targets across all vehicle lines.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As Material Cost Reduction Mega Project Engineer you’ll have an Engineering qualification or hold a relevant degree, engineering change processes experience, a lowest total cost mindset, with a positive attitude where you can motivate the team to deliver projects at the earliest opportunity.

 

You’ll also have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, relationship building skills with the ability to influence, lead multi-functional teams, and constructively challenge new ideas and inputs.
