WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The Power Electronics team is responsible for the hardware and software design and implementation for components such as DcDc converters, Traction Inverters and Off-Board/On-Board Chargers. The team is heavily involved in current and future electrification programmes and is thereby actively contributing to the Jaguar Land Rover CO2 route map.

 

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of new Traction Inverters including hardware and software in to JLR vehicle programs. The role requires the individual to deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time and lead on the technical content and integrity of specific components and systems across specific programmes.

 

As the Inverter Lead Engineer you’ll deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time, including maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System. You’ll also be managing change requests, expenditure forecasting and the relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of the programme milestones. The role will also have responsibility to resolve issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet targets. In summary you’ll ensure all appropriate Jaguar Land Rover standards are met through-out.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

As the Inverter Lead Engineer you’ll be expected to have strong project management skills. You’ll also have a good understanding of power electronics, experience in leading an engineering team of up to 5 engineers is also expected. 


These are the requirements for the Inverter Lead Engineer:


Essential:
•    Project management skills
•    Root cause analysis techniques (e.g. Six Sigma, 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D etc)
•    Capable to lead EMC testing, HILST testing, supplier commodity planning
•    Degree qualified (engineering, science or mathematics preferred) 
•    Capable using CAN tools such as CANape, CANoe, CANalyser, INCA


Desirable:
•    Previous experience on HEVs, PHEVs and BEV vehicle configurations
•    Previous experience within engineering or programme planning departments
•    Previous experience with Power Electronics and Hardware Development
