SALARY: £36,500 to £45,000

Dreaming for tomorrow is about more ideas and ambitions. We’re already building the next generation of vehicles, using repurposed and brand new technology and techniques. We’re doing more than dream, we’re creating the future of mobility and automotive for years to come.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This role will be within the Driver Modes team, forming part of the Chassis and Motion Control Systems section of Chassis Engineering. The team provides control system and software design and development expertise for existing and future chassis related features such as Terrain Response, Auto Terrain Response and Adaptive Surface Response.

As the Driver Information Systems Lead Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a small team in the design and development of driver information systems.  This includes development and demonstration of new concepts and systems alongside the HMI and design teams, and working with system engineers to update and improve existing systems and architectures. With your insights and expertise, you’ll be performing requirements analysis and decomposition, development and execution of the validation process and associated simulation environments.

You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with the teams delivering the touchscreens, instrument clusters and diverse chassis systems in order to deliver a cross-system solution to allow the customers to experience and interact with the chassis systems on their vehicle. You’ll be leading a team of system engineers, to deliver concept and production systems in a timely manner according to vehicle programme timing and local delivery milestones.

We offer the challenge to help us create a safer, cleaner, smarter more connected future, and to contribute to our corporate goals and success story as one great company with two iconic brands.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have experience in systems development and delivery through all stages of the engineering development ‘V’ cycle, including understanding of system principals. Experience in developing customer facing systems with HMI elements would also be beneficial.

Ideally, you’ll have an understanding of quality and robustness techniques and standards such as FMEA, P-Diagrams, noise factor analysis, and data analysis techniques to support this. Prior automotive controls experience such as Chassis, Vehicle Dynamics, or Longitudinal Control is preferred, though strong candidates with relevant system experience from other industries such as aerospace will also be considered.

You’ll ideally possess a degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace Engineering or similar subject, or equivalent industry experience.

Jaguar Land Rover considers that this role does not meet the criteria to be considered within the Home Office Shortage Occupation list. Therefore, Jaguar Land Rover will not support an application for visa sponsorship and all applicants for this role must have an unrestricted right to work for an indefinite period in the UK.

SO WHY US?

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.

Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunities for all.
