This role is key to supporting the component, system and full vehicle verification processes within JLR. You will have responsibility for the liaison and working with the Engineering defined commodities under the guidance of the Test Consultancy Manager and Advanced Product Owner (APO). You will be responsible for integrating with your assigned commodity teams and directly  advise & consult and compile complete physical test plans. With reference to your immediate APO you will critique those plans and control & advise on best test processes and location. Where the tests activities can be carried out internally to JLR, you will represent the interests of Engineering Laboratories and our ability to effectively plan and conduct the necessary work. Where work needs to be completed external to JLR you will be responsible to work with the test Facility Planning (FP) team to secure external test capability.

You will be responsible for liaising with Chassis based commodities to derive overall test plans, consult and lead best method of verification, defining best rationalisation of plan to achieve most efficient test plan, establishing test prioritisation and submitingt test plan delivery to laboratories, coordinate through Product Owners and Test Delivery teams the efficient execution of the test plan at a detail level

You will need  experience of rig based, test and evaluation techniques for proof of structural performance, good mechanical understanding of chassis systems and their integration to body structures, an ability to evaluate and defend test methodologies from a data driven technical perspective, a good understanding of laboratory equipment capability and flexibility and the ability to evaluate system and component failure modes, suggest & define further investigative methods to refine understanding / advise on revised evaluation methods for proposed fixes.
