SALARY : £52,000 - £56,000 PA

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

As the Safety Manager within Occupational Health and Safety, you will be required to develop and deliver the Zero Harm ambition through deployed policies, processes and further requirements as appropriate at the location they are responsible for. There will be a requirement to manage input into development of Zero Harm plans and the activities to identify and manage risk at locations the role is responsible for; this will include development and use of tools and focus on physical and behavioural aspects of risk management and control. In this role you will also support ensuring safety compliance and governance, using centrally developed and deployed tools, ensuring all aspects of the Jaguar Land Rover management system is maintained. You will provide direct support to the site leadership teams, safety representatives and trade unions, for the delivery the Zero Harm ambition, and the strategies and tools which will assist this journey.

 

This will include:

  • attendance at appropriate meetings,
  • development and delivery of reports and presentations to effectively communicate current performance and continue to drive improvements,
  • assistance to ensure the right levels of competency is identified for roles critical to safety,
  • participate in risk management liaison with liability insurers in cases they have responsibility for, together with representing the function to support other Jaguar Land Rover corporate requirements and governance activities.

 

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Identify best practices and initiatives to support with continuous improvement to the Jaguar Land Rover processes; keep abreast of key trends and industry movements by maintaining strong external networks.
  • Develop localised Zero Harm Plans which are based on locations risk profile and performance to drive the Zero Harm ambition
  • Launch initiatives by utilising agile techniques to ensure the achievement of planned outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively across all functions.
  • Negotiate and influence senior management and other stakeholders, where appropriate.
  • Apply working knowledge of key H&S practices, best practices and industry knowledge when advising and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job, as may be requested

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Essential:

  • Previous experience of working in similar role with a proven track record of delivery of successful Health and Safety.
  • Experience of stakeholder management and networking skills.
  • Proven experience of process development, capability development and upskilling.
  • Experience of business influencing.
  • Proven strong communication and negotiation skills to work with customers at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify how one issue can impact on another, and put in place the required interventions through support, or from own knowledge base.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Full NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (Level 6)
  • Computer literate
  • Driving Licence

 

Desirable:

  • Strong track record of successful stakeholder management, specifically the ability to confidently advise and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Commercially astute with an ability to understand the business functions that this role supports.
  • Proven project management experience using project management techniques e.g. project planning, risk management etc
