WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The team you will be joining has a vision to build comprehensive EDS DFMEA’s, design standards and validation methods to support the EDS design teams to deliver best in class, competitive, reliable, safe and regulatory compliant EDS systems for our JLR customer vehicles. Under the leadership of the EDS Technical Specialist and the support of your local team structure you will be responsible for developing new and maintaining current engineering requirements, standards, design rules and test procedures.


In support of these activities, you will be expected to review current and future regulatory requirements that have been prioritised by the EDS product compliance engineer to include engineering text that impacts EDS design into future standards. You will also work with the EDS core pre-Program Start teams to review new design concepts/technologies and identify new EDS related failure modes that do not have coverage in the current EDS foundation DFMEA. You will work with the EDS delivery teams to review their program level DFMEA gap analysis to identify further enhancements to the EDS foundation DFMEA. 


As a team in identifying these gaps, the expectation will be to prioritise their importance, author the necessary requirements/standards/design rules/test procedures, review them with the EDS TS and submit them into the JLR approval system. In support of the authoring of new requirements/standards/design rules/test procedures you will be required to research existing industry standards, work with local JLR experts and seek any further guidance that will support their creation. A dashboard shall be created and maintained that shows current gaps identified, progress for inclusion in the DFMEA, prevention control ideas generated and their progress into authored documentation. 


Support shall be provided to the EDS delivery teams in understanding and applying the both DFMEA principles and the EDS requirements/standards/design rules.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO
 

  • Support the off-cycle squad in order to deliver the ABR/QBR aspiration, delivering value in each sprint, aligned to the Programme and Domain level vision and epics.
  • Ensure JLR Electrical Distribution System (EDS) requirements into TRM (Traceable Requirements Management) from the current framework.
  • Create and compile requirements and test cases following company-standard formats and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with the engineering teams in order to obtain the required input for the requirements and test cases.
  • Actively contribute to the creation of the validation plans for off-cycle and on-cycle Wiring Harness Components Integration.
  • Cooperate with electrical distribution system components integration to set up and handle the requirement list.
  • Support the off-cycle squad in order to deliver the ABR/QBR aspiration, delivering value in each sprint, aligned to the Programme and Domain level vision and epics.

 
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Technical fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Previous experience in technical writing, managing requirements, processes, auditing or similar.
  • Experience with quality management.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
  • An individual with the ability to prioritise their workload.
  • A good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideas.
  • An effective team player who supports team members.
  • Automotive experience is an advantage
