JOB TITLE: LV and HV Power System Engineer

The Power Architecture team develops delivers low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) power supply systems for all future Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. We have responsibility for LV and HV power supply systems on all JLR powertrain variants, from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) to mild-hybrid (MHEV), plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV). Power Architecture is a rapid growth area and is a key enabler for Electrification and ADAS. 




The Power Supply Systems Engineer is responsible for the development, verification and digital validation of LV and HV Power Supply Systems. 


  • Development of new LV and HV power supply system architectures and functions
  • Define, validate and cascade functional and non-functional requirements and targets to ensure that customer features provide an experience that customers love for life.
  • Creation and execution of MATLAB/Simulink based power supply system simulations 
  • Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and failure modes effects analysis




  • Electrical or electronics engineering degree (or equivalent)
  • Technical knowledge and experience of automotive power supply systems and/or power electronics system, battery system development and/or validation 
  • Experience of system-level or component-level issue resolution and strong practical ability 
  • Experience on electrical system simulations
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, data and conclusions within the team and to stakeholders 
  • Working knowledge of MathWorks toolchain and the creation of modelling artifacts within the MathWorks tools.




  • Knowledge and understanding of systems engineering principles (including MBSE & SysML) 
  • Knowledge and experience of vehicle power system or power electronics or battery simulation
  • Experience of failure mode avoidance 
  • Requirements Management using DOORS 
  • Fluent in English
