THE LEARNING ACADEMY

Not all learning takes place in a classroom. Much will be delivered using a blended format and demands an inherent level of curiosity from you, the learner. To be very clear – you’re the biggest influence on your learning and development and we want you to be daring and bold when it comes to maximising your potential.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Being knowledgeable and passionate about your work is incredibly important to us. To help you become an expert in your field, we can sponsor you to achieve a professional qualification or chartership. For example, CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing), CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply), CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and IMechE (Institute of Mechanical Engineers).

If you’re on the Jaguar Land Rover graduate programme, you’ll be given the opportunity to study for a relevant vocational or professional qualification as part of your development. If you’re not on the Jaguar Land Rover graduate programme you can apply for sponsorship to study for a professional qualification or chartership.

EMPLOYEE LEARNING SCHEME

We value learning – and we’re totally committed to yours in whatever form that takes. Our Employee Learning Scheme offers the opportunity to explore a passion or interest you’d like to develop or indulge.

You can learn more or less anything. Group challenges tend towards the outdoorsy, adventure-type activities. But if there’s something you’d really like to try, we’ll do our best to make it happen. Our networks

LGBT+ network

Jaguar Land Rover PRIDE’s mission is to create and foster a safe, open environment for all, and to promote inclusivity across the business through education, visibility, conversation and policy. The network launch event attracted colleagues and welcomed guest speakers from other organisations including Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and Stonewall – Europe’s largest LGBT+ charity.

The network recently attended its first Birmingham Pride parade where colleagues followed a liveried Range Rover SVAutobiography across the city.

Armed forces

As a gold standard Armed Forces Covenant holder Jaguar Land Rover has publicly pledged to become an employer of choice for service leavers. We are pleased to have welcomed over 850 ex-service personnel to Jaguar Land Rover since 2014 and have a range of schemes to support them transitioning into our business.

Jaguar Land Rover is also proud of its role as presenting partner of the Invictus Games in London (2014), Orlando (2016) and Toronto (2017), and the Sydney Games in October 2018.

Women in Engineering and Allies Network

Championing gender inclusivity in engineering functions and how it benefits us all, the Women in Engineering and Allies Network continues to grow rapidly. Engaging female engineers to flourish and recognising their work, the network has chapters across various sites and is fully aligned with all Jaguar Land Rover’s employee-led, diversity championing networks.

Led by a talented and dedicated committee of volunteers, the network has an active schedule of networking lunches with guest speakers, two annual conferences with skills workshops, and carries out key outreach activities in schools, universities and at careers fairs while also supporting campaigns such as Jaguar Land Rover's FurtHERing Futures campaign.

Jaguar Land Rover Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) network

Our vision for the network is to empower ethnic diversity within Jaguar Land Rover. Championing diversity we will strengthen innovation, attract great talent, encourage a diverse senior management structure and enhance customer brand perception.

The automotive industry is going through one of the largest periods of transformation we have ever seen. Therefore it is vital Jaguar Land Rover has diversity of thought in its organisation to ensure that we continue to create revolutionary products, which will create experiences our customers love for life.

In 2019 Jaguar Land Rover became the first car company to sign the Race at Work Charter, demonstrating how Jaguar Land Rover continue to be pioneers in the automotive industry and showing our customers that diversity and inclusion is important to us as a brand.

But most of it all it is a commitment to our employees. It demonstrates that Jaguar Land Rover know that racial equality in the work place is imperative. The Race at Work Charter consists of 5 principles and enables our organisation to make practical actions that will drive positive change. We are only at the start of the journey but initiatives like the BAME network and signing the Race at Work Charter are all fundamental steps in guaranteeing the growth of success of Jaguar Land Rover.
