JLR has an exhilarating opportunity for a Manufacturing Safety Engineer to become a vital part of our Global Manufacturing Engineering Propulsion (GME-P) team. As we spearhead JLR’s electrified future, your expertise will be crucial in driving our innovative projects forward.
This is an exciting time to be part of GME-P, as we undergo a transformative journey to enable electrified production for JLR. Our team is at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge Powertrain projects for JLR’s prestigious House of Brands globally, encompassing Engines, Electric Drive Units, Batteries, and the state-of-the-art facilities where these production lines are housed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Collaborate with Powertrain Manufacturing and project teams on complex, multi-disciplinary industrial installation projects
- Assist engineering, facilities, and construction teams to ensure safety is central to all factory and facility designs
- Ensure installations and CDM activities are conducted safely, supporting site installation teams during design, build, installation, and buy-off phases, including international travel
- Conduct machine and manufacturing line concept reviews to ensure adherence to health and safety standards, with a focus on machinery safety aspects. Review site plans and layout proposals for Health and Safety compliance
- Take a proactive approach to Health and Safety, striving to improve adherence across all business areas and external entities, including contractors and OEMs.
- Advise, coach, and enforce health and safety measures during installations, including CDM, equipment buy-offs, and safety audits
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Proven experience working in a mass manufacturing environment, particularly with machinery and automation
- Strong experience in working with vendors and managing supplier relationships, including coordinating with external partners to ensure safety compliance
- Experience in the automotive sector, with a strong understanding of specific safety requirements and standards is preferable
- NEBOSH certification or Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) qualification, although not mandatory, is advantageous
