WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Bring your unique talents to JLR’s Accounting team, as a senior analyst you will be dedicated to fulfilling all aspects of VAT reporting, VAT refund claims, and VAT accounting processes for any VAT returns deemed to be in scope of the Central VAT Team. Working with and supervising an offshore team, you will be assisting in providing VAT advisory and policy services to all areas of JLR.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Through own work and supporting offshore team, ensure return processes are carried out to a high degree of accuracy, understood, and documented.
  • Through own work and supporting offshore team, compile monthly VAT information and data from JLR sales subsidiaries and reporting to JLR group auditors on data.
  • Ensure VAT correctness of all return transactions, helping to define appropriate transactional checks/controls, and supporting the team in applying investigative techniques to transactions (selected by exception reports and/or through the review of transactional sources).
  • Support/carry out root cause resolution of any compliance reporting issues or errors identified during the process.
  • Support the VAT advisory managers in monitoring of industry policy, Tax Authority policy, and legislative VAT developments. Helping to turn policy and legislative changes that are relevant into meaningful communication to the VAT compliance team and the wider business. Supporting required business and process amendments falling from new guidance or legislation.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Previous experience in Finance and accounting systems
  • Previous experience in reviewing VAT returns
  • Sound understanding of VAT principles
  • Proven ability to develop processes
  • Proven understanding of reconciliations and financial postings
