WHAT TO EXPECT

 

We are looking for an experienced Engineer, with a complete grasp of the engineering fundamentals that underpin a Battery Electric Vehicle. In this creative and rewarding role, you will have the exciting opportunity to define future electric Powertrains.

 

Using the principles of Systems Engineering, you will decompose functional requirements from vehicle attribute to Powertrain hardware (incl; HV Battery and Electric Drive Unit). You will become the expert for optimal deployment of that hardware to enable class leading customer features and attributes.

 

The Hardware Integration team is composed of ambitious and talented engineers, responsible for powertrain functional requirements, supporting system strategy, and system level validation through virtual and physical testing.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Proactively understand customer needs and requirements
  • Functional requirements decomposition (all Powertrain systems)
  • Evaluate multiple system concepts, to determine strategic direction of the Powertrain
  • System design specification; prepare system specifications and functional designs, and demonstrate how they satisfy customer needs
  • System integration; define logical and physical architecture, and operating logic
  • Design verification; determine verification needs (e.g. test asset, facility), support the definition of test methodologies. Analyse test data and support physical testing.
  • Adhere to the defined systems engineering & programme delivery processes.
  • Lead resolution of complex multi-system issues

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Relevant experience of working in powertrain systems engineering
  • Experience of system definition, architecture development, requirements specification, CAE, hardware integration, validation & sign off
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Be technically curious, with a strong analytical approach
  • Have a track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Full driving licence
