From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You'll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.

WHAT TO EXPECT

JLR are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage System Lead, to join our team and spearhead the development of High Voltage (HV) systems for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HV system design within the automotive industry, technical expertise in power electronics, and a passion for innovative problem-solving. The HV System Lead will play a key role in designing electrical architectures, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving the project forward using Agile methodologies.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of HV systems for BEV and PHEV platforms, including power distribution, charging systems, and energy storage systems.
  • Create and optimise electrical architectures, ensuring alignment with functional safety (FUSA) requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate HV systems with other vehicle subsystems, including thermal management, powertrain, and controls.
  • Develop and maintain system models for simulation and analysis, ensuring robust performance and compliance with requirements as well as define and oversee testing protocols for HV systems, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and system-level and Vehicle validation.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of issues related to HV systems, driving problem resolution activities and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Extensive experience in HV system design and development within the automotive industry, with a preference for BEV or PHEV platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, including inverters, DC-DC converters, and battery management systems (BMS).
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and their application in HV systems.
  • Expertise in electrical architecture design tools and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with system modelling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and testing environments (e.g., HIL systems, Vehicle).
