WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR currently have an exciting new opportunity for an Aftertreatment System Quality Lead Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join a brand-new team formed to investigate Exhaust System quality issues and improve forward quality. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop both their problem-solving techniques and their quality first mindset. Both of which are highly transferable skills across the business to enable their future development and growth.
The team will be highly focused on engineering principles and testing to generate robust solutions to current engineering quality issues and develop data driven Design Guidelines, Requirements and Test Cases for future applications. The successful applicant will be leading, coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Take ownership and responsibility for key activities such as problem solving, quality improvement and stakeholder management.
- Leadership of junior team members and supporting when needed.
- Coaching and mentoring junior team members to upskill and progress within the business.
- Take ownership of problem resolution
- Demonstration of a proactive approach
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Have experience in aftertreatment quality with a a Quality First mindset leading to Robust solutions.
- Ability to analyse data and derive conclusions and recommendations.
- Knowledge of diesel and gasoline combustion and/or aftertreatment including calibration.
- Knowledge and use of Problem-solving tools (Six sigma, 8D, DMAIC)
- Customer first mindset who is easy to do business with and makes people feel special, driven to deliver experiences that are personalised, transparent and dependable.
