WHAT TO EXPECT

 

You'll be responsible for developing, updating and implementing control specifications and standards for top of the range manufacturing equipment and systems, ensuring integrated IT solutions and machinery safety. This includes mechanical, electrical, programmable logic controller software (PLC’s) and robot programming software development.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • To manage the overall planning, co-ordination and delivery of Control systems and standards to ensure production ready equipment interfaces
  • Maintain close working relationships with other Manufacturing Engineering  process teams, Manufacturing Operations, and IT Departments
  • Provide technical expertise to team problem solving activities to accurately identify root cause and corrective actions
  • Maintain Technical Standards, Project Books and specifications for all Manufacturing systems in line with the departments Bill of Process, global standard operating practices and JLR quality systems

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • Previous experience and expertise in the specification, delivery, installation and launch of Controls Systems, preferably in an automotive or powertrain environment
  • Thorough understanding of machine electrical systems and designs in Manufacturing 
  • Experience of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) programming methods
  • Understanding of machinery safety legislation and standards
  • Rockwell and or Siemens PLC experience
