WHAT TO EXPECT


Leading on the development, updating and implementation of control specifications and standards is all in a day’s work for our Standards and Controls Lead Engineer in JLR.

 

This is an opportunity to head up a team of 19 talented individuals in the Standards and Controls function focusing on specification, delivery, installation and launch of Controls Systems for JLR’s manufacturing equipment and systems so that we can ensure integration of IT solutions and machinery safety.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee planning, co-ordination and delivery of control systems and standards
  • Lead the team to excel in their performance and achievements 
  • Collaborate closely other Manufacturing Engineering process teams, Manufacturing Operations, and IT Departments
  • Develop and maintain Technical Standards, Project Books and specifications for all Manufacturing systems 
  • Develop and maintain interfaces specifications from Shop Floor PLC’s /Applications to Manufacturing Execution Systems

 
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

 

  • Expertise in the specification, delivery, installation and launch of controls systems, preferably in an automotive or powertrain environment
  • Thorough understanding of machine electrical systems and designs in Manufacturing 
  • Knowledge of IT/OT networks and architectures
  • Rockwell PLC experience
