As CME Jig & Tool Engineer, leading the Jig & Tool teams towards a shared vision, on the: Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar, Jaguar F-Pace, and future models, you will contribute your expertise to drive the team to maintain and improve manufacturing Jigs, Fixtures and Tooling for processes and associated equipment to enable the build of products, dimensional output, ensuring quality of product and compliance with the Bill of Process (BOP).
This includes the creation and continuous improvement of process, all process equipment, delivery of tools, jigs & fixtures, quality problem solving, data analysis and reporting of major issues, deployment of failure mode avoidance tools, support of cross-functional teams in the resolution of those issues on projects and the tracking of resolution through to completion.
You will collaborate across functions to ensure we have established compliance with the BOP to deliver processes that meet our basic minute value (BMV) and quality targets. It is also important for us to share best practice across the platforms and between manufacturing plants to ensure we employ the best processes available wherever possible.
WHAT TO EXPECT
As a CME Jig & Tool Engineer you’ll be:
• Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles.
• Attend programme meetings at all levels and present where applicable.
• Planning, developing and implementation of all written Processes for manufacturing.
• Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
• Process Capability of all processes and equipment, including Dimensional Management applications.
• Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
• Relevant previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques.
• Flexible approach to job responsibilities and working hours.
• Demonstrable ability to create detailed and effective action plans.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
