JOB TITLE:  Diagnostics Controls Engineer

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

You will design, develop and shape the future of our electronic systems by helping us find visionary developments in everything from hybrid vehicles and infotainment to advanced electronic systems integration and electrics.

 

The role of a Diagnostic Controls Engineer will be within the Platform Diagnostics and Software team, within the Chassis Electronics (CE) section of Electrical Engineering (EESE). In this role, you’ll take responsibility for the design and development of low-level software for the chassis control module, which will involve gathering requirements and their analysis, controls strategy design, development and execution of the validation process and the associated simulation environments. In addition, you’ll work on the definition, design and implementation of the diagnostics strategy in an AUTOSAR compliant framework.

 

Working with a team of System, Hardware, Software and Controls Engineers (including an offshore team), you’ll aim to deliver concept and production systems in a timely manner, according to vehicle programme timing and local delivery milestones, whilst overseeing issue investigation and ECU diagnosis.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

It is essential that you’ll come to this role with a record of production software development and delivery through all stages of the engineering development V cycle, from requirements to validation.  Hands on experience in developing applications is using MathWorks toolchain (MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow).

 

Good knowledge of automotive communication protocols and standards (CAN, Ethernet, FlexRay, UDS).  Experience in automotive diagnostics development with AUTOSAR compliant framework.

 

Good exposure to C programming language. Excellent debugging, issue investigation and problem-solving skills, should be a proficient user of test equipment’s (e.g. CANape and CANalyzer).  Experience preferably in using virtual validation tools such as desktop simulation tools (e.g. IPG CarMaker) or HIL environments (dSPACE).
