WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Join JLR as a Senior Cyber Security Engineer - Software Development!

 

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems. We are seeking an accomplished professional to write code in a secure environment, developing functions that prevent security breaches. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of cyber security principles, including encryption, key management, and firewall rules, with demonstrated proficiency in C and C++. Additionally, you will be involved in comprehensive software development, covering various stages of the software lifecycle.

 

In this role, you will need in-depth familiarity with POSIX standards, specifically in Linux or QNX environments, and extensive hands-on experience with hardware, particularly Qualcomm BSP or similar platforms. A solid understanding of cryptographic principles, including key management, firewall configurations, and software integrity, is highly desirable.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Design, implement, and maintain software applications related to security functionalities such as crypto key management, HSM APIs, secure logging, and firewalls
  • Write system and software requirements for the security applications owned by the team
  • Develop, document, and institutionalise comprehensive best practice software guidelines, practices, and procedures for cybersecurity, ensuring consistency and reliability across the organisation
  • Work directly with in-house teams and Tier 1 suppliers to guide, support, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity guidelines, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve security objectives
  • Support the validation team in writing and executing test cases, as well as any debugging activities during the vehicle development life cycle

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Demonstrated strong programming skills in C and C++, with the ability to write efficient and reliable code that meets high standards
  • In-depth familiarity with POSIX standards, specifically in Linux or QNX environments, ensuring seamless integration and compatibility with various systems
  • Extensive hands-on experience with hardware, particularly Qualcomm BSP or similar platforms, enabling effective hardware-software interaction and troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of cyber security principles, including cryptography, key management, firewall configurations, and software integrity, to protect sensitive data and systems from potential threats
  • Comprehensive experience in software development, covering various stages of the software lifecycle, from initial design and development to deployment and maintenance, ensuring robust and secure software solutions
