Senior Production Leader 
Grade D, local Nitra
Salary:  From 2297 eur monthly, 0-15% yearly bonus, other benefits according JLR rules
 
OPPORTUNITY
The role is leads, supports and motivates their business unit, coaching continuous improvement activities and creating a lean environment in which to identify and achieve their overall goals /objectives. Accountable for the adherence to standards and processes, ensuring the highest Quality Standards. Coaches and drives the team in problem solving to ensure sustained improvements to business performance. 
Accountable for the safety of the area, promotes a safety culture, recognises safe behaviour and proactively challenges any unsafe working practices. 
Leads by example and understands the needs of their team members, enabling development, growth and performance of their team, creating an environment for great two way communication

 
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Safety:
•    Accountable for compliance to Health and Safety procedures in their area and demonstrates a safety first mind set to the area
•    Role models safety behaviours and ensures correct behaviours are demonstrated within his/her area
•    Drives the identification of safety hazards, raises of (potential) near misses and coaches the team on undertaking thorough accident investigation processes
•    Accountable for ensuring all team members have received appropriate Health & Safety training applicable  for the area
•    Lead actions to improve safety. Ensure safety, ergonomic and COSHH risk assessments
 
Leadership:
•    Drive business performance for the area on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People & Environment
•    Lead and coach their teams to achieve deployed objectives and targets in line with scorecard metrics
•    Create an environment for effective and open communication with own and other teams, groups and functions
•    Accountable for the development and capability of your team
•    Demonstration of leadership behaviours and empowerment of others to proactively drive engagement and motivation across the team
•    Develop Group Leaders and production operators, educational/training plans for personnel including production instructions. Identify training needs
 
Quality:
•    Accountable for all work instructions for your area
•    Drives governance in the area and ensures that standard work/process confirmations are taking place
•    Promote a ‘no faults forward, right first time’ ethos within the area (amend on GL one?)
•    Role model effective problem solving in the area, holding individuals to account and encourage problem solving at all levels through coaching of team members
•    Promote a customer first culture within the team (internal & external)
•    Promoting a ‘continuous improvement’ mind-set through raising Kaizen ideas that will assure quality standards are achieved
 
Team Management:
•    Manage resources to ensure delivery against production targets
•    Pro-actively manage absence within the team using the appropriate policy and appropriate behaviours
•    Manage employee relations issues that arise within the area 
 •    Accountable for the management of individuals & team performance using the appropriate performance management processes
•    Responsible for coaching and developing team members to ensure they are able to do their job effectively
•    Responsible for HR related processes (whether it be escalation via HR direct or conducting HR Meetings at the appropriate level)
 
Continuous improvement:
•    Continuous process improvements using the Integrated Production System and Lean manufacturing principles such as Kaizen, Poke-Yoke, and 5S
•    Provide motivation to all team members. Produce continuous improvement KAIZEN
•    Cooperation on Engineering changes, Line trials, Process audits, PCPA Audits, TPM plans •    Manage the TPM autonomous maintenance programme in Paint production line. Responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment. 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
 •    3+ years of Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing related environment
•    Demonstrates strong leadership skills in a fast paced environment •    Acts as a role model to others and promotes an inclusive working         environment
•    Ability to be accountable for work area and related activities
•    Ability to engage and motivate the team
•    Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
•    Ability to lead problem solving teams and naturally strives for continuous improvement
•    Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
•    Computer literate
•    Demonstrate 100% commitment and support in all situations including out-of-hours
 
Desirable: 
•    Experience of automotive environment
•    HNC in Engineering/Production/Manufacturing
•    Understanding of Quality Systems and Standard Operating Procedures •    Completion of college diploma or university degree in: Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or similar; or equivalent college/university in a technical field
•    English language – communication skills
•    Good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
