Senior Packing Process Engineer
Grade D, local Nitra
Salary: From 2600 eur monthly, 0-15% yearly bonus, other benefits according JLR rules
OPPORTUNITY
The purpose of this role is to provide day to day operational support to the 3PL packging operations providing technical packing process support, including providing packing instructions and parts visual identitications
Developing and executing packing strategies for new and carry over part numbers to guarantee a flawless launch into market, including supporting vendor pack solutions
Responsible for reviewing incoming packaging requirements, VSM analysis to ensure stillage requirements support operations, and providing quality buy off
Responding to customer feedback to deliver quality improvements, damage reductions and costs efficiencies both through packing strategies, and packing processes
Manging packaging inventory, overseeing reordering processes, budget setting and CPU tracking
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Packing Process operational support to the logistical operations for all packing activity to deliver international and local vehicle/engine programmes
- Ensure the packing strategies optimises cost, quality and environmental efficiencies
- Oversee the packing process performance, and investigation customer and operational concerns raised
- Develop of annual packaging budgets
- Manage the packaging inventory levels to optimise costs, whilst maintaining supply into operations
- Work on the development of Value Stream Maps to achieve optimum balance between pallet investment, freight cost expenditure, inventory holding and marketplace space for forward programs
- Develop new part number packaging strategy, process and pack instructions for both business as usual, and new model launches
- Lead, and evaluate packing and packaging change trials and introductions with the in market customer
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience and Logistics Packing Operations
- Previous experience leading project teams
- Experience of inventory management and ordering processes
- Experience of managing spend and forecasting
- Good analytical skills and statistical ability
- Experience or knowledge of problem solving tools and process improvement
Desirable:
- Experience working with overseas customers
