OPPORTUNITY
To join an existing team of Safety Advisors, providing health, safety and wellbeing advice, audit and ensuring manufacturing sites are fully compliant with all relevant current and future legislation.
To support the implementation of the health and safety strategy through the evaluation of statistical data, past findings and knowledge of corporate, industry and wider external developments.
Where appropriate co- ordinate and supervise the work of external regulators, auditors or third party consultants.
Plan and undertake internal reviews or projects, in accordance with agreed working practices, appraising the relevant risks, processes and controls to identify opportunities for improvements to the effectiveness and efficiency of compliance systems on the site.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, to raise awareness, influence process change, drive continuous improvement and the adoption of best practice, and external stakeholders to enable achievement of business objectives.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Support and Contribute to the development of all aspects of Jaguar Land Rover’s Health and Safety Policies, and associated processes and ensure implementation is consistent across the company
- Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and review of existing, new and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and ensure the systems and processes meet legal compliance
- Work with cross functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives in the management of Health and Safety as directed
- Work on the risk assessment and accident management systems are in place to enable the operational business to undertake risk assessment processes to identify hazards
- Liaise with Occupational Healthcare on health surveillance where a risk assessment has identified a need and maintain appropriate records
- Provide staff comprehensive information on Health and Safety systems and procedures, including advising on equipment purchase and workplace practices
- Maintain the accident and ‘nearmiss’ database and contribute to the preparation of reports for senior stakeholders using statistical and other analytical tools
- Maintain appropriate records in compliance with legal requirements, e.g. COSHH, and that necessary notices are displayed and reviewed
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures that impact on the delivery of effective Health and Safety systems, including Data Protection
- Participate on investigation of accidents and near-misses including root cause analysis and accidents committees
- Carry out internal H&S Trainings for employees, managers and contractors (H&S Induction, Investigation of accidents, Risk assessment, Awareness raising trainings)
- Prepare work instructions and safe system of works
- Providing guidance and ensuring compliance with legal and other regulation for safety of technical equipment and determining professional qualification for operators, preparation of training matrix and ensuring suitability of training provider
- Develop and implement Lock out, tag out system in the plant
- Develop and implement safety process for commissioning, testing and inspecting of technical equipment, machinery and robots including categorization of technical equipment as per Regulation no. 508/2009 Coll.
- Prepare analysis and statistics, recordkeeping, monthly reporting
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Min. Secondary Technical School
- Safety technician certificate
- Deep knowledge of health and safety legislation and adequate technical norms and standards
- Fluent English language in written and spoken
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – advanced
- Technical knowledge of current and upcoming Health and Safety legislation, best practices and industry developments and trends
Desirable:
- Experience of process implementation and policy development of Health and Safety Legalisation and associated regulations
- Experience in developing safety behavioural programmes
- Experience in developing safety management systems
- ISO 45001 Internal auditor
