Quality Engineer
Grade C, local Nitra
Salary: From 1930 eur monthly, 0-15% yearly bonus, other benefits according JLR rule
OPPORTUNITY
This operational based role sits with the Imports and Exports CKD Operations, and is responsible for safeguarding the quality of bodies, vehicle components and engine parts being shipped to our overseas local assembly plants. Working within a 3PL Packing Partner operations, the role is responsible for overseeing quality of process, process adherence, quality of packaging development as well as leading investigations into quality issues reported throughout the end to end handling and shipping process.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Lead quality investigations to resolve customer issues reported within the logistics operations, or from the Customer upon receipt.
• Ensure timely response to potential NCR concerns to maintain build to plan both within Packing Operations, and manufacturing plants
• Lead weekly issue reviews with relevant stakeholders ensuring a robust investigation is carried with containment and safe cut off’s issued and verified
• Identify emerging issues and ensure owners have appropriate containments and reaction plans in place, and that these are communicated to the local assembly plants.
• Ensure effective use of recognised problem solving tools, such as Level 0, PPS and 8D processes for communication of problem definition and subsequent resolution actions
• Undertake supplier visits where required to understand root cause of issues and develop relationships
• Ensure Supplier Quality LEQOS deliverables are achieved in a timely manner according to the Launch gateways
• Support stop ship management, led by follow plant quality managers maintained via e-tracker system
• Lead quality continuous improvement drive by quality, costs and safety
• Working with Packaging Development and 3PL Packing partner, carry out risk assessments and identify packaging and process improvements
• Support go-look-see cadence with all stakeholders including suppliers and follow plant to ensure compliance to quality standards
• Supervise Formel D Incoming Inspection of sequenced materials, leading weekly performance reviews, and monthly reports to evaluate benefit of inspection
• Work with 3PL Packing partners to ensure containment or cut off containment within 24 hours of report where possible.
• Review and evaluate PPS submission from service provider to conclude issues satisfactorily.
• KPI and performance monitoring
• Review service providers pack process, adherence to JLR pack instruction and pack instruction.
• Liaise with STA to ensure engine concerns are effectively managed and resolved.
• Liaise with STA SAP analyst to ensure SAP is adjusted accordingly where appropriately (Engines) and 3PL Packing partners when parts are non conforming
• Support CKD Audit compliance and readiness reviews
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
• Manufacturing Quality and/or Process Quality experience
• Knowledge of problem solving tools
• Continuous improvement ‘mind set’ with the ability to identify and implement robust solutions and enhancements
• Experience leading cross team quality reviews
• Excellent communication skills and proven track record in building strong relationships
Desirable:
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferable
• Experience of working within logistics operations preferred
• Experience of working with multi-cultural international teams
• Previous experience of coordinating auditing activities in the Manufacturing or Automotive Industry
• IATF internal audit qualified, or willing to undertake training
• IT skills, particularly with Excel and powerpoint
• Presentation skills
• Six sigma recognised qualifications preferred
