Environmental Engineer
Grade C, local Nitra

Salary:  From 2000 eur monthly, 0-15% yearly bonus, other benefits according JLR rules


OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Environmental Engineer to join our team in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 standards and relevant environmental legislation. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental management system, conducting audits, and promoting sustainable practices within our automotive manufacturing processes.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Maintain environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 14001 standards specific to the automotive industry.
•    Lead and conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and company policies.
•    Identify and evaluate environmental risks associated with automotive manufacturing processes and develop mitigation strategies.
•    Monitor and report on environmental performance, including waste management, energy use, and pollution control within the automotive sector (KPIs, Scorecard, etc).
•    Provide technical and legislative support and guidance on environmental issues to production and, engineering and other relevant teams.
•    Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and maintained.
•    Develop, deliver and maintain training programs on environmental management and compliance tailored to the automotive industry.
•    Stay updated on changes in environmental legislation and ensure the company’s practices are aligned with current regulations.
•    Promote sustainable practices and initiatives within the automotive manufacturing processes.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
•    Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
•    Professional certification in ISO 14001 is highly desirable (internal and/or external auditor).
•    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental management and compliance, preferably within the automotive industry.
•    In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 standard and environmental legislation (Slovak, European)
•    Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments within the automotive industry.
•    Knowledge of sustainability practices and green technologies relevant to automotive manufacturing.
•    Familiarity with environmental reporting and data analysis.
•    English language B1 / B2 (intermediate English or upper-intermediate English)
•    Office skills (Office 365, Teams, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint)
•    Driving license B
Desirable:
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experiences with working in international teams.

•    Technical proficiency: Familiarity with analytical and compliance software (JLR EMS toolkit, Chemwatch), as well as environmental regulations and best practices, is important
