POSITION: Port Operations & Vehicle Logistics Intern

Jaguar Land Rover North America’s internship program is a great opportunity for college students entering their junior or senior year, or who are currently in a graduate school program, to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of the automotive industry! In this internship, you will assist the Port Operations & Logistics Team in all facets of the operation in order to achieve monthly wholesale objectives and foster process improvements.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Performance Metric Tracking & Reporting
- Collect/ analyze/ tabulate port operations & vehicle logistics department metrics.
- Support / conduct bi-weekly conference calls with port personnel and inland carriers.
- Assist with carrier performance cost, quality and performance discussions.
- Prepare presentations for special projects.
- Input / code invoices for payment
- Special Moves – provide back up to the Logistics Coordinator
- Arrange, manage, track, special moves and RAV (reacquired vehicles) requests.
- Support JLR Regions & Rental Fleet with inter-regional moves to meet wholesale objectives as requested.
- Daily Production Reports – provide back up to the Port Operations & Logistics Coordinator
- As back up produce daily reporting files for use by Port Operations, Logistics & Distribution
- Support process improvement for Port Installed Options and Special Vehicle build programs.
Project Management #1 – develop and produce monthly carrier reporting of transit performance and carrier damage claim conditions.
- Conduct quarterly reviews with contract carriers for the purpose of improving delivery performance and damage reduction strategies.
- Assist in sourcing transporter capable of providing expanded delivery capabilities from anywhere to anywhere.
Project Management #2 - Support process improvement for Port Installed Accessories
- Produce and maintain daily data file with inbound Port Installed Accessories volume.
- Evaluate data to determine the necessary installation personnel required based on installation times.
- Work with Port Managers and Sales / Distribution Teams to establish capabilities to achieve objectives.
Details of the program:
- The program is open to students at a Junior or Senior level in their Bachelor’s Degree program or a Graduate Program
- The Internship runs from June 16, 2025 to May 22, 2026
- 25-29 hours per week during business hours (Business Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm)
- Hybrid Schedule available
- Paid internship - $18/hour
- Must already have eligibility to work in the United States
What you will need:
- The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in a collegiate academic program for 2025/26 (either a junior, senior, or graduate student)
- Preferred degree of study in: Logistics & Supply Chain Management / Business Administration / Materials Management / Transportation Management with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and have a desire to learn more about corporate operations.
