WHAT TO EXPECT:
This Opportunity would suit a highly skilled individual with patterning, sewing and component trimming capabilities. Working closely with designers to realise our Modern Luxury vision in creative soft trim to the highest quality to meet our gateway deliverables.
You will be expected to cover all aspects of developing interior trim such as headliner, steering wheels and soft seats, as well as hard seat models, trimmed samples and concept components.
As a Trim Development Engineer, excellent understanding of shape & form, experience of fabrics, leathers, and other soft materials will be crucial to delivering high quality products in the delivery window.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Coordination, delivery and ownership of trim assembly/project
• Leather/fabric trim development of prototype parts and models made from a variety of materials.
• Full development of seats from patterning to fully fitting and finishing
• Leather cutting, lamination and assembly sewing.
• Soft foam work and modification
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
• Full development, patterning and trimming skills required
• Expert level sewing machinist, covering assembly and decorative stitch and development stitching.
• Strong knowledge of fabric properties and automotive materials.
• Hand sewing skills
• Ability to modify conceptual seat foams
