We are pursuing an accomplished Technical Specifications Engineer - Exterior Trims, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our strategy for the Body of Knowledge development.

 

Exciting opportunity to join the Exterior Ornamentation Chapter as Technical Specifications Engineer – Exterior Trims within the Off-Cycle Squad. We are a dynamic, international and welcoming Chapter, placing the growth of our people at the forefront. We take real pride in our strategic thinking having a clear long-term vision, with a unique and logical approach to laying the foundation of our Body of Knowledge.

 

In this role you will be responsible for authoring Technical Specifications (Requirements, Standards, Design Rules, Tests and Procedures), components DFMEAs, Processes and Templates documentation. You will have the ability to research and evaluate complex information, create clear and concise technical documents, with excellent written communication and a keen eye for detail. A good technical understanding of product design & development of injection moulding components is desired.

 

You will collaborate with the Off-Cycle Squad colleagues, and across various Chapters and Departments as required. You will support the programme Lead Engineers to ensure a correct understanding and application of the Technical Specifications, sharing technical information and coaching your Chapter colleagues when needed.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

  • Understand and fully support the implementation of the Chapter’s long-term vision and strategy
  • Develop comprehensive Technical Specifications (Requirements, Standards, Design Rules, Tests, and Procedures) that meet the Chapter’s vision and quality standards
  • Translate complex technical design information into simple, clear, and polished documents that are easy to understand and use
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and colleagues from various Chapters and Departments to research relevant technical information
  • Develop, maintain, and improve components DFMEAs, Processes, and Templates
  • Evaluate current documentation methods and explore improvements for better organisation and accessibility

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Technical Knowledge of Injection Moulding Components: Expertise in exterior / interior plastic trims (decorative finishers, grilles, bumpers, claddings, pillar / door trims, dashboard) or other similar plastic components is essential
  • Outstanding Written Communication Skills: Ability to write clearly and accurately in a logical manner, with a keen eye for detail. Authoring experience is highly valued
  • Understanding of Standards and Procedures: Familiarity with writing and implementing Standards, Design Rules and Procedures
  • Technical Understanding of Product Design and Development: Strong technical knowledge in the design and development of injection-moulding components
  • Ability to Quickly Learn and Understand Technical Subject Matter: Capable of rapidly acquiring and comprehending technical information, and identifying the correct knowledge
