This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly established Brand Design team as a Brand Design Spatial Manager. In this role, you will be a design leader with an established industry reputation, driving creative excellence across all JLR brands in collaboration with internal teams, commercial partners, and external agencies.
You will:
- Shape and elevate client experiences by designing impactful touchpoints across all brand interactions
- Bring a strong creative vision to every project, balancing hands-on design with leadership and direction

THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities
As Brand Design Spatial Senior Manager, you will be responsible for directing, shaping and setting the strategy for Spatial Design and translation for each Brand House, through all human-made surroundings and settings, articulating and embedding Modern Luxury. The senior manager for spatial will have a background in architectural/interior and furniture design and an intrinsic knowledge of art and sculpture, bringing a new skillset and transforming the built worlds for all brands. This role is pivotal in uniting cross functional teams responsible for delivering spatial design across the enterprise.
- Creatively manage external suppliers/agencies to ensure initial goal and requirement for all spatial projects is delivered, in line with our House of Brands (HoBs) strategy and Modern Luxury design integrity
- Overall ownership of designs through conception, execution, prototyping and verification, whilst consistently working at pace & successfully
- Define and meet the Retail standards of environments, working in collaboration & supporting the Commercial Retail Teams, Centres of Excellence (CoE) and the HoBs teams Brand aspirations
- Understand human needs in all spatial projects, to translate and create spaces that drive maximum user impact and emotion through the design of events
- Drive global consistency, local relevance and desirability of each spatial project
- Ensure aesthetic integrity of each Brand is maintained across all spatial projects
- Work in collaboration with Brand Chiefs to pro-actively develop new and exciting spatial design prospects
- Mentor and manage a Creative team that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across the different design skill sets
- Responsible for team performance and health, resource allocation, project prioritisation, and building a culture of design excellence
- Understand and drive the importance of sustainability in all spatial design concepts and execution
- Develop and build individual brand stories, events etc via spatial social engagement

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be a visionary design leader with a proven track record in delivering exceptional creative outcomes. You should bring:
- High performing and experienced spatial design senior creative, with a proven track record of leading and managing teams and client-side experience
- Innovative and creative, challenging convention & maximising resources available
- Ability to understand how a brand story can be depicted in a built space and create maximum impact
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously working with a cross functional team to design and deliver major projects for our Hob’s
- Construction knowledge – Understanding of RIBA process
- Strong visualising approach - know how to work in 2D CAD software (AutoCAD, Vectorworks and 3D CAD Software (Autodesk 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Rhino)
- Strong skills in building and managing relationships, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to drive consensus through diverse perspectives
- Strong leadership, role modelling authenticity and inspiring the best in employees
- Progressive and pioneering in their ideas and approach to developing ambitious and realistic ideas
- Knowledge of design trends and styles and understanding of spatial balance
