WHAT TO EXPECT
We’re looking for a Power Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our innovative team, contributing to the development of JLR’s Mild Hybrid, Plug-In, and Full Electric vehicles. As part of the Power Electronics team, you’ll design, develop, and shape the future of our Power electronics systems, in particular the DC-to-DC converters This role offers you the chance to play a key part in JLR’s electrification strategy and CO2 reduction goals.
In this high-visibility position, you’ll be responsible for the development and support of 48V DCDC components, managing these across current car quality issues and future model developments. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and Tier 1 suppliers to ensure that requirements are met, overseeing both hardware and software aspects of DCDC design and development. With a hands-on approach, you’ll apply your skills in design, validation, and delivery to achieve the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Inverter & DCDC Group Leader, you’ll play an essential role in JLR’s Agile Scrum Team for programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Lead Quality improvement (iQM) projects to resolve current vehicle issues through structured 8D processes.

Coordinate and deliver requirements for Cycle Plan programmes using PCDS and Agile principles.

Manage and communicate requirements with sub-system and component stakeholders.

Lead quality workstreams, including DFMEAs and PPIRs, and control prototype & production releases.

Oversee HiL testing and timing plans to ensure robust DCDC performance prior to release.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Deep knowledge & understanding of Power electronics and converters

Proficiency in PCDS and Agile (Scrum) for Power Electronics component delivery.

Demonstrated experience managing Tier 1 suppliers and project timelines.

Skilled in root cause analysis techniques (Six Sigma, 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).

Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
